Dr. David Cooney

Dr. Cooney is originally from Indianapolis, IN. At the young age of 5, his family moved to Georgia. After graduating from Duluth High School, he did his undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1998. Dr. Cooney then attended the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in Augusta from 1998 to 2002. Before beginning his senior year in school, Dr. Cooney completed an internship with the Indian Health Service in Montana. During his senior year, he was awarded with a Senior Honors Residency for Oral Surgery. After graduation, Dr. Cooney worked for other dental offices and doctors, gaining experience and mentoring. Finally, in January 2004, he opened his first family dental practice in Braselton. Subsequently, due to the growing demand for dental care, he opened another family practice in Jefferson in January 2007. Dr. Cooney cares deeply for his patient's and the care they receive. Dr. Cooney has kept up to date on many continuing educational classes, ensuring that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care. Dr. Cooney is married to Jessica, who was an elementary school teacher, prior to tackling the job as a full time mom. They live in Hoschton and plan on making the area home for many, many years to come. Dr. Cooney is an avid UGA sports fan, especially football.

Dr. Amy G. David, D.M.D.

Dr. Amy G. David grew up in Hartwell, Georgia. She was introduced to the field of dentistry by her father, who still practices in her hometown. Dr. Amy received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Davidson College in 2000 and graduated with honors from the Medical College of Georgia in 2009 with her Doctor of Dental Medicine. Dr. Amy enjoys working with the entire family. She focuses on thorough and gentle care, making the dental experience fun and exciting for the entire family. She began practicing in Savannah, Georgia area where her comprehensive dentistry and patient relations helped her be selected as one of “Savannah’s Top Dentists” by the Savannah Magazine. She then spent a couple years practicing in Sugar Hill and Canton, Georgia. She is married to Brad David, and has two young children, Emily and Ben.

Patricia Davis - Jefferson Office Manager

Patricia joined our office in March of 2012. Originally from California, Patricia has lived in Georgia since 1996. She began her career as a Certified Dental Assistant, however, she now focuses on patient care and making sure every patient has a fantastic experience while in our office. Patricia's welcoming smile and compassion for all make her the perfect first impression for all of our patients.

Terrie Fields - Clinical Assistant

Terrie has worked for Dr. Cooney since early 2009 as a dental assistant. Prior to entering dentistry, Terrie worked in retail management for over 20 years. She has discovered that she loves the change and has brought with her great customer service that everyone will enjoy. Terrie moved from Maryland in 2008 and has acquired a fondness for sweet tea. Terrie enjoys spending time with her husband, Steve, and her 3 dogs.

Lacey Allen - Dental Assistant

Lacey has worked with Dr. Amy since January 2013. She studied dental assisting at Athens Tech, graduating in 2011. She was born and raised in Maysville. She enjoys spending time with her two daughters, Charleigh and Addison, and her husband, Rob. In her free time she loves to go shopping.

Heather Ellis, RDH

Heather is one of hygienist and has been with Dr. Cooney since 2010. She graduated from North Hall High and obtained her dental hygiene degree from Gainesville State College and Lanier Technical College in 2003. She is a busy mom and wife with three children: Dale, Josie, Cade and husband Jon. She also has three little dogs, Chewie, Chloe and Chipper. She enjoys working with patient's of all ages and is always a smiling face for the office.

Jennifer Roberts, RDH

Jennifer is one of our hygienists and has working with Dr. Cooney since 2007. She is a native of Jackson County and is proud of her hometown roots. She graduated from Jackson County Comprehensive High School and continued on to Gainesville State College, obtaining an Associates of Science degree in 1998. After graduation, she continued on to Lanier Technical College for her Dental Hygiene degree, completing in 2001. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Terry, and three children, Jake, Tori and Lexi. She spends her extra time camping, reading and taking care of her animals.

Jennifer Amos, RDH

Jennifer joined our practic in November 2009. She graduated from Georgia Perimeter College in 2007 with a dental hygiene degree. She is originally from Ohio, but has lived in Georgia since 1988. She lives in Pendergrass with her husband, Will, and their 2 boys, Blake and Logan. In her spare time she likes spending time with her family.
